Melanie Milano, LMHC Melanie received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University at Buffalo and her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College in New York City. Melanie believes the foundation to success in therapy starts with the therapeutic relationship between her and her clients. During a client’s first few sessions with her, they can expect an emphasis to be put on building rapport and developing a greater understanding of them as a whole.
Melanie takes a client centered, solution focused approach to therapy while also integrating cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma focused therapy techniques.
While Melanie has experience working with a variety of individuals and diagnoses, she works primarily with adolescents and adults experiencing issues related to depression, anxiety, trauma, and human sexuality.
